Acceptable Use Policy

1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs the use of The Weather Agency Graphics Portal ("the Platform"), operated by The Weather Agency and Twin Cities Media Group LLC. This policy is designed to protect the Platform, its users, and the broader community. All users must comply with this AUP in addition to our Terms and Conditions.

2. Prohibited Activities

Illegal Activity

You may not use the Platform to:

  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international laws or regulations
  • Promote or facilitate unlawful conduct
  • Engage in fraud, identity theft, phishing, or any other deceptive practices

Intellectual Property Violations

You may not use the Platform to:

  • Upload content without proper permission or authorization from the rights holder
  • Use copyrighted content, trademarks, or proprietary materials belonging to others without authorization
  • Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of any individual, organization, or entity

Harmful Content

You may not use the Platform to:

  • Upload, transmit, or distribute malware, viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware, or any other malicious software or code
  • Disrupt or interfere with the normal operations of the Platform or its infrastructure
  • Circumvent, disable, or otherwise interfere with security features, access controls, or protective measures of the Platform

Unauthorized Access

You may not:

  • Access or attempt to access other users' accounts without authorization
  • Conduct penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, or security testing without prior written authorization from The Weather Agency
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, algorithms, or underlying technology of the Platform

Offensive Content

You may not use the Platform to create, upload, or distribute content that:

  • Promotes or glorifies violence
  • Contains unlawful threats or incitement
  • Depicts or promotes child exploitation or abuse
  • Violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Encourages or facilitates illegal activity

Resource Abuse

You may not:

  • Consume excessive Platform resources in a manner that degrades service for other users
  • Make abusive, excessive, or automated requests that strain Platform infrastructure
  • Conduct or facilitate denial-of-service (DoS) attacks against the Platform
  • Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Platform without prior written authorization

3. User Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • All content you upload to the Platform
  • All graphics and media you export from the Platform
  • All materials you publish or distribute that were created using the Platform
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction
  • Obtaining all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions for any content you use on the Platform

4. Enforcement

The Weather Agency reserves the right to take any action it deems necessary to enforce this AUP, including but not limited to:

  • Investigating suspected violations
  • Removing content that violates this policy
  • Restricting access to Platform features
  • Suspending user accounts
  • Terminating user accounts permanently
  • Reporting violations to appropriate law enforcement authorities

These actions may be taken without prior notice at The Weather Agency's sole discretion.

5. No Obligation to Monitor

The Weather Agency reserves the right to monitor Platform usage and content for compliance with this AUP, but is under no obligation to do so. The absence of enforcement action does not constitute a waiver of our right to enforce this policy at any time.

6. Policy Updates

The Weather Agency may modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time at its sole discretion. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. It is your responsibility to review this AUP periodically.
